I was hesitant to write this review but being someone who does research on everything (like the seller's realtor on a home I am purchasing) I felt it was necessary. Marlon was the selling agent on the home we purchased this summer. He was kind to us when we came to see the house and when he stopped to pick up the mail because the previous homeowner's had not done a change of address right away (he even brought us brownies). However, I feel very strongly that he was aware of the state of this home. Damage was covered up conveniently during the showings with area rugs and furniture and it makes me feel both he and the sellers were aware of the misrepresentation. In several ways he has plausible deniability but at this point it is clear that he was aware of at minimum, one huge issue with the home. If we did not have the buyer's agent we had I mentally would not have survived this move -- and I am not being dramatic at all. The seller's review below states, "His negotiation skills were exceptional, as he worked diligently to secure the best possible outcome while ensuring a fair and balanced experience for both parties." Marlon and the sellers were not fair or balanced, we moved into a 9 year old home in the disrepair of a home 5x its age! Within days we were dealing with a leaking AC, water damaged leaking window, broken fridge, and HOA violations. The only couple items we asked for were literally denied. Zero fair or balanced about that. The real pièce de résistance was actually finding out from our homeowner's insurance that the roof needed to be replaced after moving in. This all may seem like something that is on the seller, after all they are the ones who filled out the property disclosure and signed it as a legal document stating that none of these problems existed, right? Except that there was an open permit on the roof and Marlon himself told our agent multiple times it was a non-issue that would not effect us and he is the one who went to the county to have the permit canceled. From speaking with our attorney we could sue the previous homeowners and Marlon for the cost of fixing all the water damage and the roof as well as several incidentals but instead I am here because my personal peace would be destroyed at a time where I have spent an entire season fixing this home. At the end of the day my time and peace are more valuable than a cash settlement. All that being said, we love our home and what we are making it and our realtor was incredible beyond measure and ensured our home was safe before we moved in. My husband saw this home once and knew it was the right fit-- he got THAT feeling. So, if you are thinking of buying a home that Marlon is the listing agent for spend the money on every inspection possible (general, 4 point, wind, mold, sewer, insects, etc) and do not take "no" for an answer no matter how exhausting the process becomes! If you are thinking of using Marlon as a selling agent, it's important to remember the energy we put into the universe finds its way back to us. I am giving Marlon a star because he was a nice guy to our faces and does have plausible deniability on some of the issues we encountered. I am giving a second star simply because I am whimsical so there is something serendipitous about him listing this home at the exact time we were looking. (Also, if the sellers or Marlon read this review, I genuinely wish you no ill will and only ask that the next time you are selling someone's home/selling your own home you think of the buyer's as people too who deserve to be treated fairly and kindly. It is also inappropriate that you came to my home after I moved in and took a photo with my daughter's car in my driveway and posted on a public google review so please remove that.)
